Position Overview:

As a cashier, you'll be the face of McKeever Price Chopper, responsible for creating a welcoming and helpful atmosphere for every customer. From efficiently operating the checkout lane to assisting customers with locating products, you play a key role in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable shopping experience.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet each customer with eye contact and a sincere "Thank you"
  • Provide friendly, helpful, easy, and safe service that meets customer expectations
  • Maintain a professional appearance and attitude in line with company standards
  • Operate the register quickly and accurately, handling various forms of payment
  • Stay informed on regulations regarding WIC, food stamps, alcohol/tobacco, and lottery (if applicable)
  • Promote additional product sales when appropriate
  • Keep cashier area and store clean and organized
  • Assist customers with bagging and locating items
  • Return misplaced products to shelves
  • Resolve customer complaints courteously and professionally


Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 16 years old
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Dependable and trustworthy with a professional attitude
  • Basic math and literacy skills (8th grade level)
  • Ability to count money accurately

Physical Requirements:

  • Stand for 4-8 hour shifts
  • Frequent walking, bending, and reaching
  • Use of hands, wrists, and arms repetitively
  • Lift up to 10 lbs frequently, up to 36 lbs occasionally
  • Push/pull up to 40 lbs occasionally
