Job description

At Didion Orf we are not just a team, we are a family of innovative and tenacious, doers. Our mission is to Do What is Right for a Better Tomorrow, recycling scrap metal and electronics.
Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment, working with your hands and operating equipment? We have a great opportunity with our production team. Hours are M-F 6 am to 2:30 pm and every third Saturday from 8 am to 12 pm.
Job Duties:
  • Check incoming metal scrap to remove contaminants like plastics, wood or unapproved metals.
  • Load raw wire, cable, sheet metal, or other materials into hopper.
  • Watch material flow to prevent jams, overloads, or blade damage during high-volume processing.
  • Separate chopped metal cleanly from insulation debris using shaking screens or air separation systems.
  • Collect and dispose of non-metallic waste byproducts.
  • Utilize forklift and mini excavator to transport heavy bins, Gaylord boxes, and raw material to and from chopper.
  • Weigh incoming raw scrap and outgoing processed metal to track machine yield and recovery rates.
  • Complete daily safety, preventative maintenance and housekeeping duties.

Starting pay $18-22 per hour depending on equipment exprience plus opportunities for quarterly bonuses.
