Position Responsibilities
Substitute teachers will assume the duties of the regular classroom teacher in accordance with school district lesson plans, school rules, and Kelly policies, including:
  • Delivering instruction using established lesson plans
  • Assigning reasonable classwork and homework
  • Motivating students and encouraging active participation
  • Adapting instruction to meet diverse learning styles
  • Maintaining a positive, safe, and productive classroom environment
Long?Term Assignments (11+ consecutive days):
  • Developing lesson plans
  • Creating, administering, and grading assignments and assessments

Minimum Requirements
Substitute Teachers
  • At least 20 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent (college coursework or degree a plus)
Substitute Paraprofessionals
  • At least 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Long?Term Substitute Teachers
  • At least 20 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Long?term assignments are defined as 11+ consecutive days in the same role
All Candidates Must Have:
  • Comfort using a computer?based scheduling and payroll system
  • Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

Pay Rates
  • Daily Substitute Teacher Pay: $115/day
  • Long?Term Substitute Teacher Pay: $180/day, starting after the 11th consecutive day on the same assignment
