Position Summary

At Texas Card House, we are dedicated to providing the highest quality of service to our guests. We take pride in delivering memorable, positive experiences for every one who walks through our doors.

The Brush Attendant is responsible for ensuring smooth operations on the gaming floor by managing chip runs, assisting dealers, maintaining proper chip inventory, and providing support to poker games. This role involves seating players, delivering chips to the Cage, addressing guest needs, ensuring game flow, and "brushing" (cleaning) the poker area.ย

This role will be in-person located in our TCH location: insert location

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain knowledge of casino games, rules, and operations.
  • Assist in seating players and managing chip runs to and from the Cage.
  • Deliver new decks of cards to dealers upon request.
  • Observe and report on game play, identifying irregularities or potential issues.
  • Perform regular table touches, greeting guests and assisting dealers and poker room staff.
  • Assist in administering promotions and monitor player activity in the poker room.
  • Ensure the poker area remains clean and organized, addressing any spills or messes promptly.
  • Track players waiting for seats and assist in managing player flow in the poker room.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, helping to ensure a positive guest experience.
  • Ensure compliance with Title 31 regulations by identifying and reporting suspicious financial activity.
  • Communicate clearly with dealers, floor staff, and supervisors to ensure smooth game operations.
  • Complete all closing tasks, including securing chips, verifying dealer banks, and ensuring the poker room is in order.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Floor Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent knowledge of Texas Hold'em poker rules and hand rankings (Required).
  • Experience dealing poker in a casino or card house setting (preferred).
  • Strong math skills with the ability to perform quick mental calculations.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional, and courteous demeanor.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively manage players and maintain a positive atmosphere.
  • Impeccable attention to detail and ability to follow established procedures.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and handle chips with dexterity.
  • Understanding of Title 31 regulations and ability to identify and report suspicious activity.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain a clean work area.
  • Teamwork skills to collaborate with staff for smooth operations.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Work Environment:

  • Casino gaming environment with noise, bright lights, and high-energy atmosphere.

Physical Requirements:

  • This position is an on-site, in-person role.
  • Mobility: Ability to walk and move quickly around the gaming floor, including standing for long periods and bending to retrieve or deliver items.
  • Dexterity: Ability to handle chips, cards, and other gaming equipment with precision and care.
  • Vision: Ability to identify and monitor chips, player activity, and game irregularities to ensure smooth operations.
  • Hearing: Ability to hear customer requests, staff communication, and any changes or issues on the gaming floor in a noisy environment.
  • Communication: Clear verbal communication with guests, dealers, and supervisors to coordinate seating, chip runs, and other responsibilities.
  • Endurance: Ability to maintain focus and perform physical tasks throughout long shifts in a busy environment.
  • Lifting: Ability to lift and carry items, including chip trays and other supplies, weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Environment: Ability to work in a fast-paced, noisy gaming environment, with fluctuating temperatures and varying levels of activity.
