Job description

Northeastern Chimney Inc. is hiring a Chimney Maintenance Apprentice to join our team in West Hartford, CT. This is a full-time position for dependable individuals interested in learning a skilled trade in a hands-on work environment. SCHEDULE: This is a full-time apprenticeship, typically Monday through Friday, with weekend availability and overtime required during peak season.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR IN A CHIMNEY MAINTENANCE APPRENTICE
Home services or construction experience is a plus. Military-experienced candidates are encouraged to apply. Does that sound like you? If so, and you meet the following criteria, we want you as our Chimney Maintenance Apprentice!
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record
  • US citizen
  • Dependable form of transportation
  • Comfortable working on roofs, ladders, in attics, and tight spaces
  • Willingness to work overtime during the peak season
  • Strong time management and punctuality
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Willingness to learn sales skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude

DAY-TO-DAY
In this apprenticeship, you'll perform inspections and cleanings, assist with installations of chimney caps and chase covers, and help identify additional service needs. You will prepare estimates based on inspection findings, actively participate in training sessions and team meetings, and ensure all assigned work is completed safely and on schedule.
