Job Description This position is responsible for monitoring, operating, trouble shooting and performing all preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance to all equipment associated with high-pressure steam boilers. Responsible for uninterrupted, efficient, safe and economical operation of all equipment. Responsibilities Job Function: Schedules and Work Orders Provides quality workmanship in response to work orders and preventive maintenance schedules.

Collaborates effectively with coworkers and management to complete assigned tasks accurately and efficiently. Job Function: Monitoring Systems Monitors and records operating system parameters, including boiler and chiller loads, water usage, steam generation, and chiller discharge temperatures. Identifies, documents, and reports any deviations from expected system performance.

Job Function: Monitoring Energy Center Operations Monitors all Energy Center equipment to ensure uninterrupted heating and cooling services throughout the campus. Identifies operational issues and takes appropriate action to maintain system reliability. Job Function: Preventive Maintenance Performs scheduled preventive and corrective maintenance on Energy Center equipment.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to: Cleaning equipment Calibrating gauges Aligning equipment Replacing piping and components Changing filters Adjusting valve packing Lubricating pumps and motors Checking fluid levels in gearboxes Performing other tests or repairs necessary to maintain efficient operation Job Function: Maintenance Applications Utilizes the Plant Operations Maintenance Software (TMS) to support department operations, including data entry, work order management, report generation, and maintenance documentation. Job Function: Maintenance Data Recording Records and maintains accurate data related to natural gas and water consumption for boilers and chillers. Job Function: Water System Testing Performs scheduled testing of boiler water and cooling tower water to evaluate chemical content and system performance.

Adjusts chemical feed systems as needed and performs minor repairs, including tubing replacement and routine maintenance of chemical feed pumps. Job Function: Energy Center Safety Management Maintains a safe, clean, and organized Energy Center environment by adhering to all safety procedures and regulations. Properly uses personal protective equipment (PPE), tools, chemicals, and machinery in accordance with established standards.

Job Function: Emergency Energy Center Response Responds to emergency call-ins and assists with the operation and restoration of Energy Center systems during emergency situations. Job Function: Utility Plant Inventory Management Maintains organization and cleanliness within the Utility Plant storeroom. Responsibilities include: Conducting inventory counts in a timely manner Maintaining appropriate stock levels to avoid shortages Receiving and verifying deliveries for accuracy Stocking shelves and dispensing materials as needed Submitting requisitions for materials and equipment required to support operations Job Function: Standardized Overall Performance Expectations Serves as essential personnel and is subject to all Code Gray and Code Yellow requirements.

Obtains vendor quotes for materials and services within assigned trade areas. Maintains adequate inventories of parts and supplies necessary to support operations. Coordinates planned and unplanned service disruptions with affected departments through clear, proactive communication.

Prepares and submits requisitions and purchase orders for required materials and supplies. Identifies and recommends process improvements, operational efficiencies, and cost-saving opportunities to the Director of Facilities. Complies with all organizational, departmental, and Facilities policies and procedures.

Assists Facilities team members as needed to resolve maintenance and repair issues. Performs additional duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of Facilities or other members of the management team. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED required.

Valid Ohio High-Pressure Boiler Operator License required. Minimum of two (2) years of related experience required. Five (5) or more years of related experience preferred.
