Job description

The YMCA of Central Texas is searching for passionate, energetic positive role models to join our summer camp team as Camp Division Leader.

Camp Division Leader are responsible for day-to-day operations of an individual grade level during our summer camp programs. Camp Division Leaders oversee staff members and campers each week.

Camp Division Leaders foster positive relationships with campers, parents, and other staff while exemplifying the YMCA core values of Caring, Honestly, Respect, Responsibility, and Faith.

Essential Functions

  • Provide accurate daily counts by 9:00am to Program Director
  • Ensure accurate attendance records are kept
  • Document any incidents or injuries using proper forms to be turned in each day
  • Document any behavioral issues and report to Program Director each evening
  • Communicate with Program Director about any issues with campers or parents
  • Fill out timesheets accurately each day
  • Communicates with campers parents

Skills/Requirements

  • At least 18 years of age or have previous camp/childcare experience
  • Must possess excellent customer service skills
  • Ability to provide active supervision for a group of children over a 8-9 hour period
  • Ability to relate well to children and maintain positive relations with children, parents, other staff, and Y leadership
  • Ability to plan, organize, and implement curriculum and activities for youth focused specialty programs
  • Commitment to the mission and core values of the YMCA of Central Texas
  • Be able to pass reference check, pre-employment drug screen, background check and sex offender check.

Pay Rate: $18.00 to $20.00/hour
