Through education, awareness, and advocacy, we help families in under-resourced communities thrive.

Our free Afterschool Program at Jose Marti Park and Citrus Grove Elementary serves over 200 children, ages 6-12, from families with limited financial means. With measurable outcomes in reading, literacy, and physical fitness, we help children grow academically, socially, and personally.


POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Youth Services Site Coordinator, the Part-time Program Assistant is responsible for providing program and instructional support for program site.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS INCLUDE:

  • Assists with daily follow-up of program participant absences.
  • Assists with the timely submission of program-related documentation by program participants.
  • Conducts supply inventory.
  • Performs administrative duties as needed.
  • Provides arrival / dismissal support.
  • Provides classroom support as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a high school diploma or GED, and be at least 18 years of age.

Must:

  • Agree to get fingerprinted and a Level 2 background check,
  • Submit to random drug testing as determined by Amigos For Kids personnel policies and procedures,
  • Must complete the Department of Children and Families 45-hour training requirement within first year of employment,
  • Agree to attend staff development and training,
  • Sign an Affidavit of Good Moral Character,
  • Have NEVER been convicted of a felony or a misdemeanor related to abuse, neglect, exploitation, or other barrier crimes as listed on the Sworn Disclosure Statement of the Criminal Record Check,
  • Provide references as requested.

Light physical activity as related to activities described. Easy mobility to work with children in a variety of environments. Lifting not exceeding 50 lbs.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to frequently stand, walk, stoop, sit, crouch, bend, speak, and hear.
  • Ability to engage in physical activity with members without limitation.
  • Ability to lift, carry, pull, or otherwise move objects between 10 and 20 pounds.


WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • This position requires a person who can work with many distractions, interruptions, and still accomplish their objectives and meet established deadlines
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Flexible work hours required consistent with afterschool time programming

Monday Friday 1:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
