Anthem Church is a growing church in Angier, NC. We have grown from nine original families in 2013 to approximately 280 individuals in attendance on Sunday mornings in 2026. Municipal projections indicate rapid and significant growth in our area over the next decade. Given our growth as a church and the expected growth in our community, we are seeking an associate minister to lead multiple ministries and help Anthem Church advance the gospel mission in our community.

The Associate will be a godly man who follows Jesus with integrity and passion and who exemplifies the qualities listed in Acts 6:3-5 and 1 Timothy 3:2-13. The Associate will be gifted by God as a leader (able to steer and guide individuals and ministries). A good leader provides clear vision, manages and plans in order to move toward the vision, and is skilled in teaching, delegating and motivating to maximize a person's and a ministry's potential to move toward the vision.

• Personal
  • Prioritize devotion to Jesus Christ and the pursuit of personal holiness.
  • Build and maintain a biblical marriage*Disciple children to know and follow Jesus.
  • Live as a missionary throughout the week.
  • Be a perpetual learner: attending conferences, reading books, watching podcasts to grow in personal faith and to learn new and best ministry practices.
  • Steward God-given talents, skills, gifts, experience and education to help believers to grow in their faith and to help Anthem to thrive.
  • Partake of church life: Attend Sunday worship service, A-team, Anthem Night, Prayer Service, Sunday morning prayer time and other church events.
• Staff
  • Serve under the guidance of the Lead Pastor.
  • Attend weekly staff meetings.
  • Attend Elders' meetings and report on various ministries.
  • Be a servant leader: coordinate with other ministry leaders; manage church calendar, help guide outreach & service project teams, and do what's needed.
  • Adhere to the vision, mission, values, virtues and methods of Anthem Church.
• Congregational Shepherding & Care
  • Provide biblical counseling & discipleship for individuals and couples.
  • Preach expository sermons which call people to love Jesus, to repentance, and to loves which reflect faith in Jesus.
  • Make hospital visits as needed.
  • Pray weekly for the members of Anthem Church.
• Anthem Kids (infants-5th grade)
  • Oversee children's ministry: Sunday school, VBS, special events, etc.
  • Lead the Sunday school leadership team to provide direction, resources, and encouragement.
  • Recruit and train volunteers to ensure adequate and qualifies volunteers.
  • Plan and lead yearly children's ministry teacher training.
  • Teach Anthem Kids Sunday school if needed.
  • Ensure there is childcare for Anthem Night, Prayer Service, member's meetings, ect.
  • Lead the VBS leadership team.
  • Ensure all Anthem Church and children's ministry guidelines are followed.
  • Ensure the church budget is followed.
  • Ensure adequate curriculum, supplies, and equipment for children's classes and activities.
  • Ensure a safe, loving environment in which children are taught God's Word and encourage to put their faith in Jesus.
  • Ensure that the Anthem Kids strategy, tactics, logistics, and methods follow the direction of the Elders and the overall church vision.
• Youth Ministry (6th-12th graders)
  • Lead the youth ministry leadership team.
  • Implement curriculum.
  • Create and hire intern position.
  • Organize special events for teens: fellowships, outings, retreats, conferences, mission trips, summer camp, ect.
  • Connect with local middle schools and high schools to see how Anthem Church may connect with students.
  • Ensure all Anthem Church and youth ministry guidelines are followed.
  • Ensure the budget is followed.
  • Recruit and train volunteers to ensure adequate and qualified volunteers.
  • Ensure a safe, loving environment in which teens are taught God's Word and encouraged to put their faith in Jesus.
  • Ensure that the youth ministry strategy, tactics, logistics, and methods follow the directions of the Elders and the overall church vision.
• A-Teams (adult small group bible studies)
  • Recruit and train small group leaders.
  • Lead at least one A-Team.
  • Coordinate the launch of each new A-Team semester (January-May) and (August-December)
  • Lead at least one A-Team leadership training each year.
  • Maintain continuous communication with A-Team leaders to provide advice and encouragement.
  • Ensure all Anthem Church and A-Team ministry guidelines are followed.
  • Ensure the budget is followed.
  • Ensure that the A-Team ministry strategy, tactics, logistics, and methods follow the direction of the Elders and the overall church vision.
