Veterinary Technician - General Practice The PARC Vet Fort Worth, TexasThe PARC Vet is looking to add a full-time Veterinary Technician to their team! At The PARC Vet, a Thrive Pet Healthcare Partner, you’ll feel the warmth and openness of a small clinic, while having the opportunity and support of a united network. The PARC Vet is a 24/7 Animal Hospital that does it all: Wellness Care and 24/7 ER/Critical Care. Our 25,000 square foot facility is one of the most unique in the country with glass walls that help calm pets’ fears. We care about the People as much as the Pets, including our team members. As a Veterinary Technician you’ll play an important role in pets’ lives by providing care for our precious patients. Your life-changing work will range from the hands-on care of facilitating outpatient treatments and performing laboratory tests, to support services including admitting and discharging patients. Experience & Skills Requirements:
- Has a minimum of 2 years’ experience as a veterinary technician
- CVT/LVT/RVT encouraged to apply
- Has experience in anesthesia and surgical assisting and post-operative care
- Excellent problem-solving abilities (judgment, logic, creativity, conflict resolution)
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to observe the behavior and condition of animals
- Comfortable with anesthetic patient monitoring of ASA I-III (preferred experience with ASA I-V)
- Prepare animals and instruments for surgery
- Collect laboratory samples, such as blood, urine, or tissue, for testing
- Perform laboratory tests, such as urinalyses and blood counts
- Comfortable utilizing digital radiography machines to acquire images using proper technique and positioning
- Comfortable utilizing advanced diagnostic equipment
- Administer medications and treatments prescribed by a veterinarian
- Collect and record patients' case histories
- Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
- With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
- Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with your state's Veterinary Practice Act outlined for credentialed veterinary technicians and assistants.
- Communicate with clients about individualized pet health concerns and offer guidance on Thrive Membership options, medications, and additional treatments.
- Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
- Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
- Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
- Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
