Position Summary:
The Childcare Specialist is responsible for providing childcare services and childcare development with all dependent children to the women who are receiving treatment for substance abuse disorders. The Childcare Specialist works closely with the Program Manager. The Van Driver is responsible for providing safe transportation to and from appointments and treatment. The Van Driver works closely with the Director of Housing and Facilities, Treatment Coordinator, or Program Manager to accomplish the mission and service goals of Aletheia House.
Primary Responsibilities:
-To provide evidenced-based childcare services to the dependent children of women who are in treatment for a substance abuse disorder.
-Attend to children by providing personal assistance, medical attention, emotional support, or other personal care to children. This may include, but not limited to feeding, dressing and overseeing play.
-To report observed or unusual behavior of the children to their mother and the clinical staff.
-To maintain a log of all childcare services.
-Solve routine problems related to the children who are in care.
-Perform other duties as assigned by the Program Manager, Chief Operating Officer and/or Executive Director.
-Provide safe transportation to appointments and treatment for Aletheia House clients.
-Assist with the maintenance, cleaning, and repairs of agency vehicles. Assist with janitorial services at the outpatient clinic. Assist with maintenance duties as the outpatient clinic as needed.
-Maintain transportation documentation as required by Aletheia House and other funding sources.
-Submit reports to Director of Veterans, Housing and Facility Services,
-Residential Supportive Services Manager and/or Clinical Director in a timely manner.
-Attend meetings and other required trainings as needed.
-Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Veterans, Housing and Facility Services, Chief Operating Officer, and/or Executive Director.
Requirements
Qualifications:-High school diploma required. Bachelor of Science degree in education or social work preferred.
-Work experience and undergraduate coursework in early childhood education and certification preferred.
-Valid Alabama Drivers' License and good driving record required.
-Previous driving experience, preferred.
-High School Diploma or equivalent
Travel Requirements:
-Quarterly meetings and trainings.
-Transport clients to and from group.
-Must be willing to use and have your own personal transportation.
-Must have a current Driver's License and good driving record.
-Mileage reimbursement for personal use of vehicle is included
