About This Role

Develop and lead a cohesive teaching team, drive curriculum implementation, and oversee daily classroom operations. Teachers must be attuned to children's cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development, fostering a safe and engaging learning environment that promotes active engagement and success. Effective communication with children and adults is crucial, enabling teachers to support teacher assistants, address parental concerns, and navigate the classroom's social dynamics.


What You'll Do
  • Develop a comprehensive educational program by designing engaging classroom activities that align with developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
  • Motivate the teaching team by demonstrating a strong work ethic and providing guidance and support to promote their success.
  • Design age-appropriate activities that stimulate children's social, cognitive, and emotional growth, ensuring their active participation and engagement.
  • Regularly communicate with parents through informal discussions, progress reports, and parent-teacher conferences to keep them informed of their child's development.
  • Ensure that the center adheres to all relevant policies and state regulations.
  • Maintain a healthy and safe classroom environment, adhering to strict standards of hygiene, cleanliness, and safety.
  • Supervise teacher assistants and volunteers to guarantee they are following planned activities, adhering to safety and hygiene standards, and maintaining a positive and supportive environment.
  • Manage and maintain accurate records, forms, and files in a timely and organized manner.
  • Develop a personal professional development plan to continually improve teaching skills and maintain high-quality instruction.

Requirements
  • Must clear full background check and must pass health screening.
  • Must have a specific vision ability, including the ability to see up close and up to a certain distance, to see colors, have peripheral vision and depth perception.
  • Must have excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Associate’s Degree in early childhood education or related field of study with a minimum of 30 Credits in ECE.
  • A strong understanding of child development.
  • High energy and the ability to work well with others (staff, children, and parents) and to foster a team environment.
  • Minimum of 2 years of professional child care experience.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • Requirements include the ability to take frequent walks, use hands and fingers, handle objects, tools or controls, talk to and hear voices at many levels. May also be required to kneel, bend, squat or crawl.
  • Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
