Do you have a passion for early childhood education, developing staff, and creating an environment where children can thrive? The Alexandria Area YMCA is looking for a positive, organized, and collaborative Child Care Site Coordinator at our YMCA site to help lead the daily operations of our licensed child care program.


This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing leadership, program administration, and working directly with children and families. You'll play a key role in supporting teachers, maintaining licensing compliance, partnering with families, and ensuring our child care program provides the highest quality experience.


Essential Functions:  

  1. Lead the day-to-day operations of a licensed child care site. 
  2. Support, coach, and develop a team of child care professionals. 
  3. Ensure compliance with Minnesota licensing requirements and YMCA standards. 
  4. Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff. 
  5. Assist with enrollment, family tours, and onboarding new families. 
  6. Help maintain staffing schedules, training records, and required documentation. 
  7. Work alongside the classroom team as needed to support quality care and appropriate staffing ratios. 
  8. Collaborate with the Child Care leadership team on program quality, budgeting, and continuous improvement. 

Salary

$52,000 - $65,000 annually

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Associates Degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education or related Human Service field. 
  • Minimum of three years' experience creating, implementing and managing high quality and large volume child care programming and facility preferred. 
  • Experience in supervisory role with skills in recruiting, training, and staff management preferred.
  • A high level of attention to detail and quality of service and facilities. Demonstrated commitment to high standards of customer service. 
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills with the ability to manage several projects at once and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Applicant must be able to successfully pass Minnesota Department of Human Services background check.
