As we continue to expand our regulated operations, we are seeking an experienced Regional Chief Risk Officer (CCO) to to establish and lead a best-in-class enterprise risk management framework, and ensure regulatory excellence across multiple European jurisdictions. The Opportunity As Chief Risk Officer, you will be responsible for developing and overseeing the company's risk management strategy across all regulated activities. Reporting directly to the CEO and Board of Directors, you will ensure the effective management of financial, operational, regulatory, technology, and digital asset risks while supporting sustainable business growth and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework and risk appetite.
  • Oversee financial, operational, liquidity, market, credit, technology, cyber, outsourcing, and digital asset risks.
  • Ensure compliance with European regulatory requirements, including PSD2/PSD3, MiCA, DORA, AML/CTF, GDPR, and EMI regulations.
  • Advise the Executive Team and Board on risk strategy, governance, and emerging regulatory developments.
  • Lead ICAAP, ILAAP, stress testing, scenario analysis, recovery planning, and business continuity programmes, where applicable.
  • Monitor key risk indicators, prepare Board risk reports, and ensure effective risk escalation processes.
  • Work closely with Compliance, Internal Audit, Finance, Operations, Product, and Technology teams to embed risk management across the organisation.
  • Maintain constructive relationships with regulators, auditors, banking partners, and external stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
  • 3+ years of experience in risk management within regulated financial services.
  • Previous experience as Chief Risk Officer, Head of Risk, or senior risk executive in a bank, Electronic Money Institution (EMI), Payment Institution (PI), fintech, or digital asset business.
  • Strong knowledge of enterprise risk management, governance, internal controls, and regulatory expectations.
  • Deep understanding of European payment services, banking operations, treasury, outsourcing, operational resilience, and financial crime risk.
  • Experience with MiCA, digital assets, blockchain-based financial services, or crypto risk management is highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to engage with Boards, regulators, auditors, and executive leadership.
  • Strong analytical, strategic, and decision-making skills with the ability to balance innovation and prudent risk management.
