Who we are:
Hellbender Inc. is an 80-person Pennsylvania Benefit Corporation that designs and manufactures
edge AI devices and perception systems to power our customers' core business models. We do
everything from low volume prototypes to high volume production (into the tens of thousands of
units), and we do it all in-house: from PCB design and assembly to full-stack software
development, mechanical design to end of line integration and testing. Now, we are beginning to
build out our Hellbender branded product lines, and are looking for technical product managers
to help.

Job Summary:
As a Technical Product Manager at Hellbender, you will help lead products from customer
discovery through design, prototyping, and into production, all while keeping customer needs and
competitive positioning front and center. You'll coordinate among engineering, production,
marketing and sales teams to drive the successful execution of product development efforts,
keeping the team on time and on budget.

The ideal candidate has strong technical and interpersonal skills, is comfortable leading teams
and taking ownership of their work, and can function well in a scrappy and fast paced startup
environment. This role requires a high degree of ownership but will work closely with our Chief
Product Officer, engineering, procurement, production, and marketing teams.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish trust and build strong relationships with stakeholders ranging from prospective
    customers to engineering teams and executives
  • Define and prioritize feature development according to customer discovery, competitive
    landscape analysis, and internal resource availability
  • Create and drive the successful execution of product development timelines, with an eye
    on potential scheduling, technical, and budget risks
  • Oversee transition of products from development to production, and participate in
    process definition and refinement to ensure quality standards are satisfied
  • Support go-to-market activities including e-commerce sales, marketing and business
    development efforts

Qualifications, Skills, and Attributes:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Robotics, or
    equivalent education and experience
  • 2-5+ years Product Management experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • High ownership mentality and a bias toward action
  • Strong organizational skills and prior experience with project management tools like Jira
  • Experience leading cross-functional technical teams throughout the product development
    lifecycle (bonus points if this occurred in a startup environment)
  • Strong foundation with software, firmware, mechanical and/or electrical hardware
    development, and the ability to credibly engage with engineering teams focused in each
    domain

Compensation:

$100K - $150K salary range, relative to experience and abilities.

This position will be open to the company yearly bonus and retirement savings
programs.
