A Chief Product Engineer is responsible for overseeing the entire product engineering process within a company, from concept to launch. They lead engineering teams, collaborate with product managers and designers, and ensure that products meet quality, safety, and performance standards. Their role also involves setting technical direction, managing budgets and timelines, and implementing innovative solutions to meet market needs. By bridging the gap between technical teams and business goals, Chief Product Engineers play a crucial role in driving product success and organizational growth.

Job description

In a world of noise, we find the signal — the pulse of potential. We weave the strands of talent, vision, and purpose into organizations that endure. Blending intelligence with intuition, we honor the human art of connection at the heart of every great company.

About the Job

We are partnered with a global consumer brand on the search for its next SVP of Product / Chief Product Officer. This is a mission-critical executive role with broad enterprise impact, reporting directly to the CEO and serving as a core member of the executive leadership team.

The company is at an inflection point—scaling globally, expanding its portfolio, and redefining how product strategy, innovation, and execution come together across hardware, software, and ecosystem experiences.

This leader will be responsible for shaping the end-to-end product vision while ensuring disciplined execution, commercial relevance, and operational excellence at scale.

The Mandate

This organization is very clear about what it is—and is not—seeking.

They are not looking for a purely conceptual product leader or someone focused only on long-range vision without accountability to delivery, margin, or market performance.

They are seeking a builder–operator: a product executive who can set a clear product north star, translate strategy into shipped products, and align engineering, design, supply chain, marketing, and sales around a cohesive roadmap that drives growth and differentiation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and lead global product strategy, vision, and roadmap across the full portfolio
  • Oversee end-to-end product lifecycle: discovery, development, launch, and iteration
  • Partner closely with engineering, design, operations, and marketing to ensure products are desirable, feasible, and commercially viable
  • Balance innovation with execution discipline, margin considerations, and time-to-market
  • Drive customer-obsessed product development grounded in insights, data, and real-world usage
  • Lead and scale a high-performing global product organization
  • Establish clear product management rigor, prioritization frameworks, and operating cadence
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to the CEO, executive team, and board on product and innovation

Ideal Profile

  • Senior product leader with experience leading complex, global product portfolios
  • Proven track record shipping successful consumer products at scale
  • Deep understanding of product management, user-centered design, and engineering collaboration
  • Experience operating at the intersection of hardware, software, and ecosystem services strongly preferred
  • Commercially grounded: understands margin, cost structures, and go-to-market realities
  • Clear operator mindset with the ability to move seamlessly between strategy and execution
  • Strong people leader capable of building, mentoring, and inspiring world-class teams

Location & Work Model

  • Southern California
  • Hybrid schedule: 2–3 days per week onsite

Compensation

  • Base salary: $350,000 - $425,000
  • Bonus: 50%
