Job description

Job Posting The Police Administrative Assistant is a non-sworn employee of the Police Department. The objectives of the position are to provide routine and complex administrative, clerical, and various other assigned services to the Police Department. Prepare and organize reports as required by the prosecuting attorneys for charging and court related activities, or other law enforcement agencies.

Assist visitors and process incoming telephone calls and electronic communications. Data entry and file maintenance, to include but not limited to NCIC, BCA, RMS, CHRMS. Process data requests pursuant to the Minnesota Government Data Practices Act.

Process requests and prepare permits to purchase firearms; complete background checks as assigned, perform fingerprinting for the public and comparison prints for sworn officers. Order, maintain, and purchase police office supplies. Provide customer service and office support in a professional and cooperative manner.

Process incoming mail. Maintain confidentiality. Perform other duties as assigned by the Police Chief, Police Captain, or Police Supervisor.
