Position Summary

McCormick Assisted Living is seeking an experienced and compassionate Administrator / Director of Clinical Services to provide operational and clinical leadership for our assisted living community. Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), this leadership position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations, clinical services, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and overall quality of resident care.

The Administrator / Director of Clinical Services partners with residents, families, physicians, and interdisciplinary team members to foster a culture of excellence, accountability, and resident-centered care. This role leads operational planning, staff development, quality improvement initiatives, and strategic decision-making while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and organizational policies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide overall leadership and management of McCormick Assisted Living's daily operations and clinical services.
  • Ensure compliance with Wisconsin assisted living regulations, licensing requirements, organizational policies, and healthcare standards.
  • Oversee the delivery of safe, high-quality, resident-centered care and clinical services.
  • Provide clinical leadership and support for complex resident care needs, changes in condition, and emergency situations.
  • Participate in resident assessments, service planning, level-of-care determinations, and ongoing care coordination.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families, physicians, and community partners through responsive communication and follow-through.
  • Lead, mentor, coach, and evaluate department leaders and associates while fostering professional development and accountability.
  • Support medication management processes through audits, quality reviews, and staff education.
  • Conduct daily rounds to observe resident care, identify opportunities for improvement, and ensure timely resolution of concerns.
  • Oversee staffing, scheduling, performance management, and corrective action processes.
  • Lead Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) initiatives, regulatory surveys, audits, and compliance activities.
  • Prepare reports related to clinical quality, operational performance, and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop, monitor, and manage the annual operating budget while maintaining fiscal responsibility and achieving organizational goals.
  • Collaborate with organizational leadership to support strategic planning and continuous operational improvement.
  • Participate in the McCormick Assisted Living leadership team's on-call rotation.
  • Promote a culture of safety by ensuring compliance with infection prevention, emergency preparedness, HIPAA, workplace safety, and corporate integrity standards.
Required Qualifications
  • Current Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license in good standing.
  • DHS-Approved Assisted Living Administrator Training Course - preferred, not required.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with an emphasis in healthcare management, nursing, business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of two years of Registered Nurse experience, preferably in long-term care, assisted living, or senior living.
  • Previous leadership, supervisory, or healthcare management experience.
  • Strong knowledge of Wisconsin assisted living regulations, licensing standards, and healthcare compliance requirements.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with residents, families, physicians, staff, and community partners.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience serving as an Assisted Living Administrator, Director of Nursing, Executive Director, or Clinical Services Director.
  • Experience with budgeting, financial management, quality improvement, and regulatory survey preparation.
  • Experience leading interdisciplinary healthcare teams in a senior living or long-term care environment.
  • Knowledge of electronic health records (EHR) and clinical documentation systems.
