The Opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced and visionary Chief Network Architect to lead the design, development, and evolution of the customer's network infrastructure. This senior-level position will be responsible for defining the overall network architecture strategy, ensuring scalability, performance, and security of our network systems, and driving innovation in our network technologies.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain the overall network architecture strategy aligned with customer goals and network objectives.
  • Shape the program's network infrastructure to support current and future business needs, ensuring reliability, scalability, and innovation in network technologies.
  • Design and oversee the implementation of complex network solutions, including LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, MPLS provider network, and automation.
  • Lead the evaluation and adoption of new network technologies and methodologies to enhance performance, security, and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership to align network architecture with long-term business strategies and digital transformation initiatives.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to network engineering teams.
  • Develop and enforce network design standards, best practices, and documentation processes.
  • Oversee network capacity planning and performance optimization efforts
  • Lead the design and implementation of network security architectures, including firewalls, IPS/IDS, and access control systems.
  • Manage vendor relationships and evaluate new products and services for potential integration into the network architecture.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure network designs support application requirements and business needs
  • Develop and present network architecture roadmaps and proposals to executive leadership.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in network architecture.
  • Oversee disaster recovery and business continuity planning for network infrastructure.
  • Ensure compliance with customer policies, directives and governance a long with relevant industry standards and regulations in network design and operations.

Qualifications:
Required:
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math (STEM) or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of related work experience
  • TS/SCI w/ poly is required
  • Deep expertise in network protocols, technologies, and industry standards
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking architectures and technologies
  • Experience with MPLS provider networks, software-defined networking (SDN) and network function virtualization (NFV)
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing large-scale, complex network solutions
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities
  • Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Relevant certifications such as JNCIE, CCIE, or equivalent
  • Experience with network automation and orchestration tools
  • Knowledge of IT service management frameworks (e.g., ITIL)

Desired:
  • DoD 8140.01 and 8570.01-M, IAT II certification

Pay Range:
There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications.
