Job description

Emprise Corporation is the industry leader in Predictive Maintenance and Condition Monitoring by offering a wide set of capabilities that allow us to provide premier products and services that help our clients operate more effectively and efficiently. We’re looking for talented Senior Marine Engineers who will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing the maintenance, repair, and safe operations of all the engineering needs for assigned vessels and equipment.

Responsibilities:
  • Manage assigned vessels class Life Cycle Plans and develop short, mid, and long term maintenance and repair planning products for various vessels
  • Plan and estimate the cost for maintenance, repairs, classification surveys, regulatory surveys, and equipment upgrades for assigned vessels
  • Direct and coordinate root cause analysis of shipboard equipment and system failures and develop post availability reports
  • Attend Port Engineer Vessel Inspections (PEVI), Ship Material Assessment Readiness Testing (SMART), regulatory body inspections and other ship material assessments to accurately determine ship material condition and develop post assessment reports and action plans based on those assessments
  • Serve as a consultant to the Shipboard Management Team, working closely with Afloat and Ashore Team members in the life cycle management of the vessel
  • Develop work specifications for voyage, emergency repairs, and regular repairs and services
  • Oversee all aspects of the successful completion of drydocking and associated surveys
  • Provide senior counsel for vessel Master and Chief Engineer to ensure that missions and voyages are efficiently and safely performed
  • Other related duties as assigned
  • Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering
  • 4 years of experience serving aboard commercial or public oceangoing ships of not less than 4,000 HP as either a Chief Engineer or a First Assistant Engineer
  • Experience gained while serving in the military may be applicable towards meeting this requirement
  • Experience must demonstrate effective management of maintenance and repair of oceangoing ships
  • Experience with a classification or flag state authority with direct exposure to vessel regulatory compliance
  • Highly organized and detailoriented with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong research, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Security Clearance
  • 10 percent travel both domestically and internationally
  • Ability to perform work onboard ships while underway
  • Ability to climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs., sit and/or stand for long periods of time
  • Desired Qualifications:
  • U.S. Coast Guard license or equivalent international standard certification as an engineer
  • Port Engineer experience having managed and negotiated shipyard availabilities
  • Licensed Professional Engineer
  • Experience developing preventive maintenance schedules and plans
