About the Role

Reporting to the Medidata CEO, the Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) is responsible for spearheading Medidata's global marketing initiatives. This leadership role will oversee Medidata's global marketing organization — spanning product marketing, operations, events, and customer advocacy — to redefine the company's market position from a data/EDC provider to an AI‑powered innovation leader across the clinical trial lifecycle.

Qualifications
  • 15+ years of B2B marketing experience, with a proven track record of scaling marketing operations globally within high‑profile enterprise SaaS or technology sectors.
  • 5+ years of experience in senior marketing leadership roles, with at least 2 years of experience successfully operating as a global head of function.
  • Demonstrated success scaling marketing functions within organizations reaching $100M+ in revenue, ideally with direct experience managing international communication strategies across Europe or Asia.
  • Proven track record of close partnership with Sales and Product organizations to drive predictable lead generation, optimize GTM strategy, and launch complex technical products.
  • High commercial acumen with a metrics‑driven mindset and expert‑level understanding of marketing automation, CRM integration, digital attribution frameworks, and ROI tracking.
  • Experienced team builder with a history of attracting, hiring, and mentoring top‑tier, high‑performing marketing and creative services talent.
  • Exceptional strategic communication and alignment skills, with the ability to secure internal buy‑in across the Executive team.

As with all roles, Medidata sets ranges based on a number of factors including function, level, candidate expertise and experience, and geographic location.

The salary range for positions that will be physically based in the NYC Metro Area is $300,000 to 337,000.

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non‑sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses. Medidata believes that benefits should connect you to the support you need when it matters most and provides benefits, including medical, dental, life and disability insurance, 401(k) matching, family leave, flexible paid time off; and 10 paid holidays per year.
