Omnicare is a leading provider of pharmacy services to long-term care facilities nationwide, supporting skilled nursing facilities, assisted living communities, and other institutional care settings. Following the sale of Omnicare by CVS Health, this role will support Omnicare and its continued operations as an independent, standalone organization. Omnicare is seeking a transformational Chief Information and Digital Officer to lead technology, cybersecurity, data and analytics, AI, digital transformation, and enterprise applications for a $2 billion national healthcare services organization with approximately 5,600 colleagues operating across 48 states.

Reporting directly to the President, this executive will help build the future of Omnicare by transforming technology into a competitive advantage that drives operational excellence, customer experience, cybersecurity resilience, clinical enablement, productivity, and enterprise value creation. The Chief Information and Digital Officer will lead Omnicare through technology separation and standalone readiness while transforming into a modern, scalable, secure, and cost-effective technology environment.

First 24 Months: Highest-Value Outcomes

  • Standalone readiness and TSA exit: establish a sequenced, risk-managed roadmap for all systems, infrastructure, vendors, support models, security controls, data flows, and enterprise services required to operate independently.

  • Define andmaintainthe enterprise technology strategy in alignment with company growthobjectives, operating priorities, and investment plans

  • Pharmacy platform modernization: accelerate simplification of pharmacy operating systems and core workflows, including order entry, fulfillment, adjudication, billing, clinical intervention, inventory, packaging, delivery, customer reporting, and facility connectivity.

  • Establish technology governance, investment prioritization, architecture standards, and decision rights across the enterprise

  • Digital enablement and AI-ready operations: identify and deploy automation, analytics, workflow, and AI-enabled use cases that reduce manual work, improve service consistency, strengthen decision-making, and create scalable operating leverage.

  • Data foundation and executive visibility: create a governed enterprise data model and dashboards that connect operational performance, customer experience, revenue cycle, retention, cost-to-serve, clinical value, and financial outcomes.

  • Technology cost discipline: reset the cost structure through zero-based technology planning, rationalized applications, disciplined vendor management, cloud optimization, and clear investment governance.

Responsibilities

  • Build Omnicare's future state standalone technology platform and operating model.

  • Translate business strategy into a clear, multi-year technology vision and roadmap

  • Modernize the company's applications, data, infrastructure, cybersecurity, and operating model without disrupting core operations

  • Improve the reliability, scalability, and economics of technology services supporting pharmacy operations and corporate functions

  • Drive business and digital transformation across core commercial, operational, clinical, and corporate functions

  • Ensure stable, secure, compliant, and cost-effective day-to-day technology operations across the enterprise

  • Strengthen enterprise data and analytics capabilities to improve decision-making, margin performance, service quality, and compliance

  • Build a high-performing IT organization with strong governance, talent, vendor management, and delivery discipline

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the President, CFO, business leaders, and board on technology risk, investment priorities, and value realization

Required Qualifications

  • 15+ years of progressive technology leadership experience, including enterprise-scale accountability for applications, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data and analytics, and digital transformation.

  • Proven success leading large-scale technology modernization, business transformation, and enterprise value creation initiatives.

  • Experience leading technology in complex, multi-site healthcare or other highly regulated operating environments.

  • Strong business, financial, operational, and strategic leadership capabilities, operating under private equity ownership.

  • Travel - based on needs of the business

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting M&A integration, carve-out, or stand-up activity is strongly preferred

  • Healthcare, pharmacy, payer, provider, PBM background strongly preferred.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Healthcare Administration, Data Analytics, or a related discipline.

  • MBA, master's degree, or equivalent advanced (preferred)

  • Relevant certifications, including CISSP, CISM, CHCIO, PMP, ITIL, CISA, or cloud platform certifications (preferred)

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:$250.000.00 - $350,000.00
This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors. This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.This position also includes an award target in the company's equity award program.

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls. The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.
