Job description

  • Own the monthly close and deliver accurate, timely GAAP financial statements, establishing a close of under 20 days within the first quarter
  • Design and implement robust internal controls, including segregation of duties, disbursement controls, and delegation of authority
  • Establish documented accounting policies, accrual methodology, and reconciliation cadence
  • Manage the external audit relationship and drive audit readiness
  • Lead and develop the finance organization across accounting, FP&A, and revenue cycle management
  • Review the accounting team and establish the path for the Controller function
  • Assess the revenue cycle management function and provide active financial oversight
  • Serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and executive team on financial matters
  • Partner with the IDD Division CFO to implement joint best practices
  • Drive cost-to-serve transparency, margin analysis by location, and financial support for new market growth
  • Provide data-driven insights for decision-making and resource allocation
  • Manage the lender relationship, covenant compliance, and financial reporting obligations
  • Ensure timely reporting for the board, sponsor, and external stakeholders
  • Prepare the finance organization for future capital events and rigorous scrutiny from lenders, buyers, and auditors

Requirements

  • Senior accounting leadership experience as a CFO, Controller, Chief Accounting Officer, or VP of Accounting
  • Direct ownership of the monthly close, external audit relationship, and accounting team
  • 10+ years of healthcare accounting experience
  • Controllership foundation through a Controller or Chief Accounting Officer role, or equivalent CFO ownership of close, audit, and accounting team
  • Demonstrated experience building or rebuilding a finance function, including controls implementation, close discipline, and team development
  • Familiarity with Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement, revenue cycle management, and multi-site healthcare operations
  • Prior CFO title preferred
  • CPA strongly preferred
  • Public accounting foundation, ideally with audit experience at a national firm
  • Experience in private equity-backed or institutionally owned businesses, including lender management and board-level reporting
  • Exposure to turnarounds, post-diligence cleanup, or organizations in transition
  • Technically hands-on approach
  • Direct communication, high integrity, intellectual honesty, and sound judgment under pressure
