We're seeking a seasoned financial expert to join us as a part-time CFO Advisor to guide our strategic financial decisions during this critical phase.Role OverviewAs a Very Part-Time CFO Advisor, you'll provide high-level strategic financial guidance to our executive team on an as-needed basis, typically 4-8 hours per week. This role is ideal for a retired or semi-retired executive who wants to stay engaged in the startup ecosystem without a full-time commitment. You'll leverage your expertise to help us navigate growth challenges, optimize financial operations, and prepare for a successful IPO.Key Responsibilities
  • Offer strategic advice on financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting to support rapid scaling.
  • Guide the team on capital raising strategies, including venture funding rounds and investor relations.
  • Provide insights into IPO readiness, including compliance, governance, and financial reporting best practices.
  • Review and advise on key financial metrics, risk management, and operational efficiencies.
  • Mentor internal finance team members on advanced topics like M&A evaluations or international expansion.
  • Participate in occasional board or executive meetings (virtual or in-person as needed).
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance executive at a tech startup or high-growth company.
  • Direct involvement in at least one successful IPO, with a deep understanding of the process from pre-IPO preparation to post-IPO operations.
  • Strong track record in financial strategy, fundraising, and scaling operations in a Silicon Valley or similar fast-paced environment.
  • Expertise in GAAP/IFRS, financial modeling, and tools like QuickBooks, NetSuite, or advanced Excel.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to distill complex financial concepts for non-finance stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field; MBA or CPA preferred.
  • Availability for flexible, part-time engagement (remote-friendly, with occasional travel to Silicon Valley if required).
What We Offer
  • Competitive hourly compensation or equity package commensurate with experience.
  • Opportunity to shape the future of an innovative startup on the path to unicorn status.
  • Flexible schedule to fit your lifestyle.
  • Access to our network of industry leaders and cutting-edge projects.
If you're a finance veteran excited about mentoring the next generation of tech leaders and have hands-on IPO success, we'd love to hear from you.
