About the role:
Our CPG client is looking for their next VP of Commercial Finance to oversee financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting for all commerical functions. This individual will partner with the Chief Commerical Officer and other Executives within Sales and Marketing. Their ideal candidate must have progressive experience within Commercial Finance in Consumer Goods or a similar industry, as well as advanced knowledge of Adaptive Planning and PowerBI.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee all aspects of the Company's finance function, including financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance with all regulatory requirements
  • Serve as the primary finance business partner to the Chief Commercial Officer, Head of Sales, and Head of Marketing, providing financial leadership and strategic insights.
  • Oversee the financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for all commercial activities, including sales, marketing, and trade spending.
  • Develop and implement key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting dashboards to monitor commercial performance across all channels (retail, e-commerce, Amazon).
  • Conduct in-depth profitability analysis by customer, channel, product, and promotion to identify opportunities for revenue growth and margin expansion.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to evaluate promotional effectiveness, ensuring optimal ROI on all trade investments
  • Develop models for forecasting trade spend liabilities and analyzing their impact on gross-to-net revenue.
  • Evaluate market trends, pricing, and internal cost structures to develop and recommend optimal pricing strategies across all sales channels.
  • Evaluate the financial impact of new product introductions and pricing changes.
  • Build partnerships and relationships, internally across the organization and externally, that lead to the highest levels of collaboration and effectiveness
  • Drive thought leadership in process improvement to scale forecasting and reporting tools, procedures, and methodologies
    Requirements:
  • BA/BS in Business, Accounting or Finance (Master's Degree preferred)
  • CPG or similar industry experience is required.
  • 8+ years' experience in Commercial Finance is required.
  • Advanced experience with FP&A software, specifically Adaptive Planning or Planful.
  • Advanced proficiency in data visualization tools, particularly PowerBI.
