Job description

A day in this role

Your morning starts in the San Antonio–Austin market, coffee in hand, headed to a customer shop where a high‑precision VMC needs a quick diagnosis. By midday, you’re verifying an installation checklist at another facility, and by afternoon you’re wrapping up a preventive maintenance visit so your customer’s spindle stays humming. Most days end close to home, with only minimal nights away during the week.

Why this team
  • Work hands-on with the latest CNC technology across a variety of customer facilities.
  • We equip you to win: car allowance, company cell phone, laptop, and fuel covered.
  • Less red tape: we streamline reports so you can focus on machines and customers.
  • Strong culture of learning and growth—your career can thrive here.

Get to know us better on the Ellison "About Us" page.

What you’ll take on
  • Deliver day-to-day field service across the local market: repair, installation, and preventive maintenance.
  • Diagnose and resolve customer issues; support sales efforts and deliver light user training when needed.
  • Communicate clearly with operators, programmers, maintenance leads, and managers.
  • Represent Ellison Technologies with professionalism and integrity in every interaction.
  • Own your service cases and projects; keep accurate customer records and technical documentation.
  • Pitch in on additional related tasks as assigned.
What you bring
  • Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, and repairing CNC machining centers and CNC turning centers.
  • Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical troubleshooting skills.
  • Customer-first mindset with clear, professional communication.
Skill strengths we value
  • Building and executing preventive maintenance plans
  • Motor replacement, repair, and routine service
  • Comprehensive CNC machine repair
  • CNC equipment installation and startup
  • Setup and changeovers for CNC jobs
  • Spindle care, maintenance, and rebuild/repair
  • Systematic troubleshooting of CNC machines
Equipment you’ll encounter
  • CNC Mill (3–4 axis VMC)
  • CNC Lathe (2–4 axis)
  • CNC Swiss Lathe
  • CNC Mill (5+ axis VMC)
  • CNC Lathe (5+ axis)
Our purpose and path

Our mission is simple: equip manufacturers to compete and win—locally and worldwide. As our CEO Graham Hooper often says, adapting is how we grow market share, deepen partnerships, and, most importantly, invest in our greatest asset: our people.
