Safety Officer
Department: Security Reports To: Safety and Risk Manager Status: Non-Exempt
Position Summary
As Team Members of the Security team, Safety Officers are CRCR Ambassadors and take personal ownership to ensure all their actions are in the best interest of the business. Safety Officers are responsible for performing safety and health program work, including developing safety policies and procedures, participating in safety training and education of Team Members, inspecting work areas and activities for hazards, and investigating incidents.
Position Functions
Essential Functions:
• Provide exceptional Guest service while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Develop safety policies and procedures for comprehensive safety and health programs.
• Conduct surveys, audits, and inspections to ensure a safe environment and compliance with safety rules and standards.
• Conduct job safety analyses, identify problems, and recommend corrective action.
• Conduct special and periodic inspections of specialized facilities, structures, and operations to identify safety and environmental hazards.
• Prepare and follow up on inspection reports of hazards and required abatement.
• Respond to and investigate safety concerns or complaints from Team Members and Guests and assist in taking appropriate action.
• Recommend procedures to ensure Team Members are held accountable for their safety responsibilities.
• Implement safety education and training, safety awareness, and the CRCR Illness and Injury Prevention Program.
• Interpret safety rules, regulations, and standards.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of safety programs.
• Maintain a log of accidents and injuries, prepare and review accident reports, and determine causes and costs.
• Prepare, coordinate, and implement emergency preparation and response plans.
• Perform inspections to ensure compliance with hazardous material regulations and inspect equipment and work areas.
• Serve as a liaison between local, state, and federal agencies as necessary.
• Assist in the preparation of various reports, documents, and forms.
• Monitor workers' compensation records.
• Plan and prepare safety budgets.
• Provide support to the Safety Committee.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Knowledge of safety and health rules, regulations, and standards.
• Knowledge of OSHA general industry rules, inspection, and enforcement.
• Knowledge of Tribal Compacts and gaming industry safety trends.
• Knowledge of the Incident Command System.
• Knowledge of emergency incident support and incident-specific roles.
• Knowledge of emergency preparation and response plans.
• Knowledge of Alcoholic Beverage Control rules and regulations.
• Proficient in Windows and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Must have (or be able to obtain) and maintain a valid CPR AED and First Aid certification (provided by CRCR).
• Have Hazmat Awareness or HAZWOPER certification.
• Have OSHA 10 or 30-hour training.
