Overview
National Award-Winning Multidisciplinary Engineering & Architecture Firm is seeking a highly motivated Director of Architecture to join their Chicago or Milwaukee office. This position is responsible for the growth and success of the architecture practice within the firm. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the firm's design work, including project management and client relations.

Responsibilities
  • Highly motivated, qualified and client service oriented Director of Architecture with experience in various markets
  • Create, manage and produce projects for governmental, healthcare, education, healthcare, and industrial clients
  • Coordinate and manage projects across architecture and other disciplines
  • Build, maintain, lead, manage, and direct a team of architects
  • Direct staff in the development of project drawings, studies and budgets
  • Maintain a team strategy, ensuring alignment to broader organization strategies, with clear foresight on growth and development of team members
  • Develop, review and approve proposals, reports and contract documents
  • Interact and communicate effectively with design team members, clients and other agencies
  • Lead business development efforts, including market research, client relationships, developing leads and securing contracts
  • Visiting building worksites to ensure work is being done according to architectural plans
  • Tenacity for growing the office and business

Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture
  • Registered Architect in Wisconsin or Illinois, depending on preferred office location
  • 15+ years of relevant experience
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • Multidisciplinary experience in any or all of the following markets: Governmental, Healthcare, Education, and Industrial
  • Experience with responding to Requests for Proposals, Expression of Interests, Statement of Qualifications
  • Proven success in developing new clients and maintaining strong client relationships
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills including: ability to articulate ideas, both verbally and in writing; personable and outgoing in work relationships, both externally and internally; highly precise, detailed and organized
  • Good decision making skills, flexibility, focus on quality and attention to detail
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize and manage work to critical project timelines in a fast-paced environment
  • Possess personal qualities of creativity, independence and initiative, and most importantly, high levels of ethical and moral integrity
  • Ability to help us grow our business
  • Experience with Revit and Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, Power Point, MS Project)
  • Project Management training and/or practical project management experience
