Job description

Company Description J.McLaughlin is a timeless lifestyle brand founded in 1977 by brothers Kevin and Jay McLaughlin, known for classic styles with a modern twist. The company designs apparel and accessories with meticulous craftsmanship, original colors and prints, and innovative fabrics that balance chic and witty aesthetics. With over 170 uniquely designed stores on charming streets across the United States, each location reflects the character of its community. Headquartered in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, J.McLaughlin’s industrial-chic campus houses corporate offices, a customer service center, photo studio, print library, and operations. Role Description This is a part-time, on-site Sales Associate role based in Palm Beach, FL. The Sales Associate will welcome customers, provide personalized styling assistance, and deliver an engaging, brand-aligned shopping experience. Responsibilities include learning the product assortment, maintaining visual standards, handling point-of-sale transactions, and keeping the sales floor organized and inviting. The role will also support store events, assist with fitting room service, and help with inventory tasks such as stocking, tagging, and transfers. Sales Associates collaborate closely with store leadership and teammates to meet sales goals, build client relationships, and uphold J.McLaughlin’s service and community values.

Qualifications

  • Point-of-sale and basic cash handling skills, with comfort using retail systems and following accurate transaction procedures.
  • Visual merchandising and store presentation skills, including attention to detail in maintaining displays, fitting rooms, and a clean, organized environment.
  • Communication and teamwork skills, including clear verbal communication, active listening, and collaboration with store leadership and peers.
  • Time management and organizational skills to handle multiple customer needs, restocking, and event support in a fast-paced setting.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods, move merchandise, and work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
  • Prior experience in fashion retail or customer-facing roles is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for style and the J.McLaughlin brand is highly valued.
  • Commitment to inclusive, respectful interactions with customers and colleagues and an interest in supporting local community and philanthropic initiatives.
