Job description

Boswell Oil Company is a dynamic growth-oriented distributor of lubricants and fuels to wholesale, retail, and commercial end user markets throughout Georgia. We are seeking an experienced Retail Sales Representative for our company. Previous sales experience required and petroleum sales experience is strongly preferred.
The ideal candidate is driven, self-directed, has exceptional verbal and written communication skills, excels at time management, impeccably organized, and comfortable engaging with new people. The position will work remotely (no office at one of our warehouse locations) to accommodate drive-able travel to customer locations within Georgia. We do not plan to for air travel to be a part of onsite customer location visits. It is beneficial for candidates to be able to easily and conveniently attend meetings at our Athens, Georgia location. The typical schedule will be Monday through Friday 8a-5p. To meet customer need there may be schedule flexibility.
Compensation will be commensurate with experience and includes a commission structure.

SUMMARY:
Contact potential and current retail/convenient store customers to qualify leads and close sales deals while supporting overall Sales department business needs. Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely and accurate service and delivery of fuel.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Develop new customers and maintain existing business to generate revenue.
  • Recommend pricing for split-profit stores to maximize revenue for both Boswell Oil and lease holders.
  • Prepare proposals, set up accounts, negotiate pricing/terms, submit orders, and provide quotes or bid specifications.
  • Maintain regular communication with customers and resolve issues such as pricing discrepancies, inaccurate deliveries, paperwork needs, and post-sale concerns.
  • Support Chevron-branded customers with program information, incentives, branding expectations, and audits.
  • Travel regularly, including occasional overnight travel, to visit customers.
  • Maintain detailed sales activity records, forecasts, customer files, and databases.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing, Operations, Sales Support, and other departments to process orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Assist with continuous improvement projects, SOP updates, documentation reviews, and sales report audits.
  • Follow company policies, safety rules, and maintain a clean work area.
OTHER (Non-Essential) FUNCTIONS:
Includes functions, which are normally performed by persons holding this title. However, these functions may be assigned to other employees as part of a “Reasonable Accommodation” under the ADA.
  • Support basic technical field service needs at split profit locations, such as troubleshooting POS systems.
  • Monitor contract renewal dates and/or rent increase schedules for split profit stores. Take internal partners to ensure timely communication around changes or renewals.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
The minimum education required for this position is a high school diploma or equivalent, preferably an Associates Degree in business, sales, marketing, or related field. Minimum 3 year experience in sales; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in petroleum retail sales strongly preferred.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the Company and its insurers.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Computer skills to include experience and working knowledge of Windows, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and any Web Browser. Experience with an ERP or CRM system preferred.
