Responsibility:

Assist in the completion of all day-to-day building maintenance work throughout all Cherry Street Mission Ministries facilities.

Purpose:

The purpose of this position is to assist in the completion of all day to day Preventative, Corrective, and Building improvement work, throughout all CSMM facilities.

All staff members at Cherry Street perform their job duties in the context of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.It is our express purpose to minister to individuals (I.e.,staff, volunteers, donors, guests) through the practical discipleship steps of eliminating poverties of spirit, soul, and body.

  1. Corrective Work Orders
  2. Preventative Maintenance Work Orders
  3. Building Improvement Projects
  • Assist in the upkeep of all vendor accounts and department purchasing (Purchasing material, keeping budget spreadsheet up to date, turning receipts into accounting, etc.)
  • Assist in the oversight of all mechanical contracts & contractors
  • Ensure all work completed is properly tracked through the E-Maintenance software
  • Ensure all CSM properties are being kept in good order
  • Manage and lead "Maintenance Serving hour guest program"
  • Manage Maintenance Volunteer Projects, as directed
  • Remain flexible and available to fill in where needed (Meal deliveries, large pickups, heavy lifting throughout ministry, etc.)
  • Operate CSM vehicles and equipment (14 Passenger Mini-Bus, box-truck, work trucks, scissor lift, forklift, etc.).
  • Ensure the safety of all persons working on a job site.
  • View the condition of CSM facilities through a proactive lens, offering insight to Facilities Lead Technician on work that will improve the buildings before a malfunction occurs.
  • Ordering and purchasing job material.
  • Assisting Facilities Assistant Manager by researching Job Material to find competitive pricing and product options.
  • Works to keep Maintenance shop, storage areas, office, and work trucks clean, organized, and free from potential hazards.
  • Maintain good relationships with all coworkers, CSM guests, contractors, vendors, and volunteers.
  • Must be able to respond to after-hour emergencies at all facilities.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • High School Diploma, GED, or Trade School required
  • 2+ years of skilled Trade experience required
  • 2+ years of project management experience preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Must have a basic understanding of building construction.
  • Must be able to complete Basic Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry, and HVAC repairs
  • Must have proficient computer skills
  • Must be comfortable operating, or learning to operate, aerial lifts, forklifts, work vehicles, 14 Passenger Minibus, Box Truck, and other machinery needed in order to complete work.
  • Must work well with others.
  • Must be proficient in using hand and power tools required to complete work.
  • Must Be comfortable working off of 4',6',8',10' A-Framed ladders, as well as comfortable working off of extension ladders.
  • Must have knowledge of construction materials available in order to complete work to the set standards of the ministry and in order to meet local building codes.
  • Must have exceptional interpersonal skills, as this position interacts frequently with guests, donors, partners, and volunteers.

Licenses, Certificates, and Other Requirements

  • Will need to pass forklift certification test within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Will need to pass CSM Mini-Bus safety training within first 30 days of employment
  • Will need to pass hands on skills test prior to hire.
