Job Description
Pay Rate: $25.00 - $32.50 per hour
(Additional $1.00 per hour for hours worked between 7:00pm and 11:59pm. Additional $2.00 per hour for hours worked between 12:00am-4:59am)
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Follow safety lock out tag out procedures.
  • Makes necessary adjustments and/or repair of ammonia, chilled water, chlorine, ice maker and delivery, HVAC, and hot water generator and delivery systems. Monitor and make adjustments to product cooler temperatures.
  • Operate and perform maintenance on boilers, condensate return systems boiler feed water systems stack economizers, and chemical injection systems for boilers and cooling towers.
  • Interpret readings on the oxygen trim and boiler flame control systems, making repairs and/or adjustments as required to insure peak boiler operating efficiency.
  • Operate and maintain the hot water generation and delivery systems, interpreting pressure and temperature readings and making repairs and or adjustments as required to insure peak operating efficiency.
  • Monitor and make adjustments to PAA (Paracidic Acid) pumps to maintain proper concentration levels.
  • Operate and maintain Ammonia Compresors and Ammonia Transfer Pumps, making repairs and/or adjustments as required to insure peak operating performance of equipment.
  • Trouble shoot and repair Ozone Generation systems
  • Perform fire sprinkler pump test.

Qualifications
  1. Must have knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems.
  2. Must have a minimum of five years experience in the refrigeration field; or, the successful completion of a course of instruction in refrigeration combined with three years of experience in the operation and maintenance of boilers up to 600 HP.
  3. Must have a minimum of five years experience in the refrigeration field; or, the successful completion of a course of instruction in refrigeration combined
  4. Must be able to troubleshoot and make "on the spot" corrections to emergency situations.
  5. Must be self-motivated and able to work with a minimum of supervision.
  6. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
  7. Must be able to work form ladder.
  8. A refrigeration/mechanical test will be administered and utilized to determine the skill level.
  9. Must be able to work any shifts, and weekends as required. Must be willing to be on weekend call rotation.
  10. Must be able to work in confined spaces, pass a SCBA physical exam.
  11. Must be able to stand for prolong periods of time (8-10 hrs) on a concrete/metal grate floor.
  12. Must be able to weld and perform mechanical and fabrication tasks.
