  • Set clear team priorities in alignment with the Director of Pre-Health Education, senior leadership goals, product timelines, and UWorld's quality standards.
  • Review chemistry content for scientific accuracy, instructional clarity, exam alignment, style, and overall learner impact.
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen content quality, improve workflows, and help the team meet key product milestones.
  • Create high-impact chemistry content as needed while balancing leadership, coaching, and operational responsibilities.
  • Partner with editing, illustration, uploading, technology, quality assurance, sales, and marketing teams to support product development and brand initiatives.
  • Represent UWorld's chemistry products and educational mission in public-facing settings, including conferences, school or university events, and web-based meetings.
Leadership and Team Development
  • Foster a supportive, collaborative, and inclusive team environment where educators can do their best work.
  • Coach and mentor team members from a range of backgrounds, helping them build subject-matter, writing, editorial, and product-development skills.
  • Support new hires through onboarding, individualized training plans, and regular developmental feedback.
  • Conduct regular check-ins and annual performance reviews that help team members understand expectations, growth opportunities, and paths for advancement.
  • Work with the Director to recommend performance goals, development plans, merit increases, and bonuses based on clear, fair, and well-communicated criteria.
  • Use sound judgment and discretion when handling sensitive team matters, employee development needs, and leadership conversations.
  • Help resolve interpersonal or workflow challenges in a constructive, professional manner that supports both individual growth and team success.
Minimum Education Required
  • Master's degree or higher in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Chemical Education, or a closely related field.
Minimum Experience Required

  • 2+ years of leadership experience in education, content development, academic publishing, curriculum development, assessment, or a related field.
  • Experience reviewing or developing rigorous science content for students, educators, standardized exams, or professional education products.
Required Skills
  • Deep chemistry subject-matter expertise and a passion for helping students master challenging concepts.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with team members, cross-functional partners, and senior leadership.
  • Excellent editorial judgment, attention to detail, and commitment to accuracy, clarity, and consistency.
  • Ability to translate broad goals into practical plans, measurable priorities, and actionable team workflows.
  • Comfort using data, technology, and process improvements to strengthen team efficiency and product quality.
  • Ability to provide, receive, and apply constructive feedback in a professional and growth-oriented way.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to help a team meet important deadlines without losing sight of quality.
