Job description
About The Role What if your deep knowledge of chemistry could directly shape how AI reasons through the most complex scientific problems in the world? We're looking for Chemistry experts — Masters and PhD holders — to help build and evaluate AI models that think with genuine scientific rigor. This is a fully remote, flexible contract role built for working scientists, postdocs, and researchers who want to apply their expertise beyond the lab.
No AI background required — just a command of chemistry and a drive for precision. Organization: Alignerr Type: Hourly Contract Location: Remote Commitment: 10–40 hours/week What You'll Do Design and develop advanced, real-world chemistry problems spanning organic, inorganic, physical, or computational chemistry Solve and critically review complex problem sets to ensure scientific accuracy, depth, and clarity Evaluate AI-generated responses to chemistry questions and identify gaps in reasoning or factual errors Collaborate asynchronously with AI researchers to enhance how AI models approach scientific thinking Maintain rigorous standards of scientific quality across all deliverables Who You Are Holds a Master's or PhD in Chemistry or a closely related field Deep expertise in at least one of: organic, inorganic, physical, or computational chemistry Comfortable working with Python or computational chemistry tools (e.g., Gaussian, VASP) Exceptional written communicator — you can explain complex science with precision and clarity Detail-oriented and self-directed when working independently Fluent in English Nice to Have Experience in data annotation, quality evaluation, or academic peer review Background in AI, machine learning, or scientific software development Familiarity with cheminformatics tools or molecular modelling platforms Experience designing problem sets, exams, or technical assessments Why Join Us Work on cutting-edge AI projects alongside the world's leading research labs Fully remote and flexible — work when and where it suits you Freelance autonomy with the structure of meaningful, task-based scientific work Make a direct, tangible impact on how AI understands and reasons through chemistry Potential for ongoing work and contract extension as new projects launch #J-18808-Ljbffr
