Main duties and responsibilities The primary purpose of the Chemical Plant Operator's position is to perform all assigned tasks, including but not limited to, the safe and efficient operation of Chemical Plant equipment to produce resin and other chemicals to required specifications.

Further duties may include performing cleaning and maintenance tasks and assisting maintenance personnel in the troubleshooting, repair, or preventive maintenance of equipment. This position will be required to work a rotating shift schedule including weekends; The position may be called upon to cover for absences and vacation. Requirements Basic computer skills including the ability to manipulate a mouse, move between screens, and interpret data.

Demonstrated high energy level, strong work ethic, and positive approach to problem solving. Excellent attendance and disciplinary records Basic knowledge of chemical handling, dosing, and application processes Strong verbal and written communication skills and the ability to communicate with all levels of associates. The ability to drive a forklift or the ability to learn to drive a forklift in a specified length of time The ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast paced environment The ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted The ability to read, comprehend, and react to complex data.

The ability to use power tools, measuring devices, and other hand tools. The ability to work effectively with other members of the facility team The ability to work with others in identifying and solving complex manufacturing problems. The ability to work independently without constant supervision The ability to visually inspect equipment at periodic intervals to detect malfunctions or need for repair, adjustments, or lubrication The ability to perform intermediate to complex chemical analysis and react to results The ability to perform preventive maintenance procedures as scheduled or directed to include tightening fittings, gaskets, valves, gauges, filters, and other components and to oil and lubricate equipment.
