Integrated Cryogenic Solutionsย (โ€œSolutionsโ€) is a subsidiary of Nikkiso Clean Energy & Industrial Gases Group (Group) and incorporated in Escondido, CA, USA. Solutions is an innovative specialty engineering, procurement & manufacturing unit of Nikkiso Cryogenics Industries. Our focus is on supplying total solutions for a range of applications in the Clean Energy and Industrial Gas industries. Solutions is unique in that many of the critical and proprietary cryogenic products are designed and manufactured within the Nikkiso Cryogenic Industries facilities. Additionally, Solutions utilizes our established relationships with key partners, to supplement the in-house engineering and manufacturing capabilities.

We are seeking an experienced Application Engineer to join our growing ICS team.

This position is in Escondido, CA, and is an in office, five days per week role.ย 


Summary/Objective

The Application Engineering role will be responsible for generating technical proposals and managing the in-house sales support for the growing fueling and solutions market in North America. This role requires a strong technical background to develop tailor-made solutions by using ICS standard.

Annual Salary Range:ย 

$83,821.00 -ย $153,600.00

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Work with departments to ensure proposals submitted meet Solutions requirements for delivery, documentation, testing and technical requirements.
  • Work with sales personnel to ensure customers are provided with the required information.
  • Communicate with customers to answer technical questions and respond to bid clarifications.
  • Ensure on-time performance of submission of proposals.
  • Provide support for marketing activities.
  • Perform quoting work as required.
  • International and domestic travel to support customer meetings as required

Knowledge and Critical Skills/Expertise:

  • English language proficiency is required.
  • Experience withย customer relation management (CRM) software;ย SalesForce preferred.
  • Advanced MS Office Suite.
  • Ability to review proposals for compliance with technical specifications and pricing accuracy for engineered-to-order products.
  • Skill in time management, prioritizing and managing changing priorities.
  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Excellent customer service and communications skills.

Experience and Education:

  • Bachelorโ€™s in Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or equivalent experience is required.
  • 3 years in application or sales engineering, preferably in a plant manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Experience with Autodesk, SolidWorks or similar software is preferred.
  • Specific industry experience is strongly preferred.
  • Position may require up to 10% travel.

Work Environmental and Physical Demands:

Overtime may be necessary as the workload dictates. This may include weekdays, weekends, nights and/or holidays.

Job will generally be performed in an office environment, but may require travel to a client's office, production facility or industrial/construction job site. Conditions will vary at each location, but the conditions listed above will generally apply. A valid driverโ€™s license is required for travel to customer sites along with the ability to obtain a passport.

In order to perform the duties of this job, the employee may be required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop or kneel, talk and hear, and use fingers and hands to feel objects, tools or controls. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs may be required.

Environmental Safety Requirements

New Employee Safety Training is required by all newly hired employees, including Safety Awareness. All safety related training is provided and tracked by the EHS Technician.

Job specific training modules deemed necessary by employeeโ€™s Manager or Director will be required of all employees on an ongoing basis.

Employees are required to wear Nikkiso provided PPE as/when needed. PPEโ€™s include, safety shoes, safety glasses, face shields, FR clothing, cryogenic gloves, cryogenic apron, cut resistant gloves, safety gloves, hearing protection, hard hats & dust masks. Failure to comply with Nikkiso Cryo safety requirements will result in disciplinary actions, up to and including termination.
