Résidence Ô St-François, a care and living community for retired people, is seeking a versatile Sous Chef in the Dining Room to join our dedicated team. WORKING HOURS: Full time: 40 hours per week Rest on Fridays and Saturdays SALARY : To be determined based on experience FUNCTION : Reporting to the Food Chef, the incumbent works closely with the latter and is responsible for planning and coordinating activities related to food preparation and cooking. Labor relations: Internal: The post holder maintains contact with all kitchen and dining room staff and residents. Responsibilities: Help maintain team spirit within the kitchen; Carry out the preparation and cooking, using appropriate methods, of meats, vegetables and other foods; Plan menus during the food chef's absences; Ensure optimal use of food; Comply with established food presentation standards; Follow working methods and use designated products and equipment in accordance with current safety, quality, hygiene and sanitation rules and standards; Respect the dress code; Clean the equipment used after each use; Stock refrigerators and keep a record of the quantities of food consumed; Ensure the cleanliness of the work environment is maintained; Clean workstations and kitchen appliances; Participate in the monthly inventory and transmit orders to suppliers; Ensure the reception, storage and verification of goods; Participate, as needed, in the organization of special events in collaboration with management and the food chef; Clear and clean tables; Assist in setting tables, transporting clean dishes, utensils and other items to service areas as needed; Any other related tasks. TRAINING: High school diploma and vocational diploma in institutional cooking MAPAQ Training – Hygiene and Sanitation EXPERIENCE 3 to 5 years of experience in the hotel and restaurant industry as a Sous-Chef Team manager (an asset) PHYSICAL PREREQUISITES: Ability to do physical work, lifting loads of more than 20 kilos. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: Good command of spoken French; Meticulous and attentive to detail Creative mind; Concerned about cleanliness and compliance with hygiene standards; Concern for a job well done, reliability, punctuality; Adaptability, team spirit; Customer service oriented approach; Sense of responsibility, autonomy, priority management, entrepreneurial spirit.
