Job description

Under the authority of the immediate superior, the cook organizes, coordinates and controls the activities relating to his service. In close collaboration with the staff and management, the cook will ensure that each resident receives quality service. He (she) regularly informs the management of the problems of his department. Manage kitchen and dining room activities: Organize, plan, direct and control all food-related operations Tasks : Ensure meals are served at established times: Offer 1 menu for 5 weeks to its director (rotate menus in order to have balanced and varied meals). Evaluate the cost price of these meals Prepare full meals (3 meals) either soup (or cream), salad, main course, vegetables and dessert. He has to make all the cooked meals and desserts himself. See that the kitchen is always clean - put the dishes away - clean the mixers and the utensils and pots he uses. Visit the residents at the tables and see their level of satisfaction. Check his inventory for 1 month and make requisitions that he must submit. Check and negotiate prices with suppliers to get the best value for money. Keep your department clean Check the temperature of the fridges every day Structuring the work of the food aid worker Responsibilities: The chef is professional and responsible. The chef must respect confidentiality and discretion is essential at all times. The chef must report any absence from work 4 hours before the start of the shift. The chef must organize the person's work in the kitchen and dining room The chef writes and sends his activity report to his immediate supervisor on a weekly basis (or more if necessary) The chef must wear, at all times, a clean uniform suitable for his work. The chef must wear comfortable, clean and non-slip shoes at all times. Requirements: Three (3) year course from a recognized institution or relevant experience as a chef, i.e. a minimum of two (2) years full time. Food Handler Course (Safety and Hygiene)
