This role involves preparing dishes, managing junior staff, and maintaining high standards of food quality and hygiene. The 'live in' aspect means the chef lives on or near the premises, which can be convenient for long or unusual working hours and often comes with benefits like reduced living expenses. This position is common in hotels, resorts, and remote locations where commuting is impractical.

The live-in aspect often means longer shifts but fosters a tight-knit team environment, where communication and mutual support are essential.
