Job description

The Tax Senior Manager at Catalyst Family Office is a seasoned tax professional, having demonstrated consistent high performance across multiple functions comprising the tax practice. These include responsibility for the successful planning and implementation of all tax projects for clients, prioritizing and managing multiple work streams relevant to each client, collaborating with other tax team members, and directing and facilitating the work flow for team members.

You will also have a critical role in teaming with firm leaders in the integration of other services that Catalyst Family Office offers to clients such as EMFR, philanthropy, estate planning, risk and insurance, and more.

Responsibilities
  • Manage client engagement teams, direct work-flow and provide in-depth compliance and consulting services to clients.
  • Oversee the compliance management process and adapt to challenges in the process.
  • Work closely with the tax team and partner group to provide tax planning, entity structuring and multifaceted solutions to help clients to achieve their goals.
  • Manage tax audits and other related inquiries from tax authorities.
  • Train, motivate, and develop professionals of the firm.
  • Develop budgets, determine resource requirements, and direct / monitor engagements.
  • Prepare quarterly billing and annual retainer for clients.
  • Collaborate with leadership on the development and implementation of best practices.
  • Participate in recruiting efforts when necessary.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or Master’s in Taxation preferred.
  • 7 years or more full time work tax compliance experience in ultra-affluent individuals and families, partnership, trust and not-for-profit entities.
  • Active CPA or Enrolled Agent.
  • Proficiency in common tax technology preparation and reporting software (BNA Income Tax Planner, Checkpoint RIA, CCH Axcess Tax, MS Office(advanced excel capabilities).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience in leading and mentoring successful and engaged teams.
  • Equity compensation (stock options, restricted stock 10b5-1 plans), complex capital transaction experience.
  • Adept emotional intelligence and communication skills.
  • A desire to serve, lead, and grow at Catalyst Family Office.
