We’re seeking a Software Engineer to join our team. This role supports efforts to strengthen the security of our applications through innovative tools, practices, and a security-minded culture. You will help improve our security posture by integrating scanning capabilities, supporting credential and access management, contributing to security training efforts, and strengthening dependency management.

The Application Security team within the Architecture Platform Experience (PDE) suite is looking for individuals passionate about automation, cloud technologies, artificial intelligence, and building solutions that make software development easier for everyone at State Farm.

  • Use AWS services (e.g., Step Functions, Lambdas, Secrets Manager, S3) to build, deploy, and manage secure and scalable solutions.
  • Apply a strong understanding of development tools, processes, applications, programming languages, and environments to help deliver robust security outcomes.
  • Improve usability and customer-product interaction by applying knowledge of UX practices, ensuring security measures support (not hinder) user engagement.
  • Contribute to strategic and tactical discussions involving security and development teams, and support alignment on goals.
  • Support application security initiatives, including security scanning, credential/access management, security training, and dependency management.
  • Demonstrate a DevOps and Agile mindset by partnering across the team and embedding security practices throughout the product lifecycle.

  • Potential starting salary range: $90,000 - $125,000
    • Starting salary will be based on skills, background, and experience
