Job Description:
Summary
The Network Security Engineer IV will be responsible for all hands on Technical as well as Security Engineering responsibilities in the Mitigation of Risk Securing Networking Security Systems and access to Data here at Ryder.
The Network Security Engineer role lies within the Chief Information Security Officer Office reporting to the Director of Security Architecture and Engineering. (SA&E)
Essential Functions
  • Responsible for writing and providing technical documentation for solutions.
  • Ability to administer firewalls, virtual private networks (VPNs), and other security tools (Hand on experience with Palo Alto NG Firewalls and Checkpoint GAIA)
  • Ability to perform upgrades on Palo Alto Firewalls and experience with Palo Alto Expedition for firewall migrations
  • Provide steady state support for business divisions using Service Now platform for ticketing system
  • Review Security Risk Variances
  • Review and Process Firewall Access Requests
  • Ensure proper renewals of TLS Certificates in the environment
  • Rapid Response for declared Security Incidents
  • Engage with the business for P1 and P2 Incidents
  • Display a working knowledge of advanced networking trouble-shooting skills
  • Ability to clearly articulate Network Security scheduled changes to Change Management Board.
  • Peer review proposed changes as a part of the Network Security Engineering team.
  • Display strong communication skills with internal and external customers.
  • Participate in On Call Rotation with Network Security Engineering team for 24x7 Support.

Additional Responsibilities
  • Perform tasks on project related work within Azure DevOps.
  • Be accountable for deliverables on projects with timelines.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required Computer Science, Information Security, or related field and/or equivalent work experience
  • Vocational or Technical Certification preferred Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
  • Five (5) years to Seven (7) years or more Experience working directly in Information Security, Identity & Access Management, especially in an engineering role. required
  • Five (5) years to Seven (7) years or more Experience working with Okta or SailPoint preferred
  • Five (5) years to Seven (7) years or more Programming or scripting - Python, Java, C/C++ preferred
  • Solid coding and scripting required. Java, C, C++, Python, Powershell intermediate required
  • Security technologies including encryption, data protection, access privileges intermediate required
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows and Linux systems intermediate preferred
  • Strong knowledge of common vulnerabilities and exploitation techniques beginner preferred
