Position Title:Check Dispute Analyst

Business Unit:Risk Management

Reports to:Manager of Risk Detections and Investigations

Position Overview:

This position is primarily responsible for the processing of check disputes submitted by customers. The incumbent in this position reviews disputes for accuracy and completion and ensures they are processed in accordance with guidelines. This may result in providing credit to customer accounts and/or corresponding with other financial institutions to recover funds.

Primary Responsibilities:

Reviews check disputes submitted by customers for accuracy and to determine validity. Analyst coordinates with internal parties to gather necessary documentation from customers in order to process to completion.

Processes dispute claims per policy and procedure and provides credit to customers and/or corresponds with other financial institutions to recover funds for customers. Ensures letters and/or documentation is provided to customers detailing status and outcome of dispute.

Works with branch staff to ensure affected customer accounts are closed and new accounts opened to mitigate any additional unauthorized activity, if applicable, or refers customers to Treasury Management to review fraud products in lieu of account closure.

Escalates claims to Risk Investigations team in case management system for further review, if necessary and/or provides claim documentation to law enforcement if requested.

Performs other related duties and projects as assigned.
