Job description

Overview

Because of that, Kubota needs experts who can operate heavy machinery to get our products where they need to go.

Equipment Operators assist Parts and Wholegoods with shipping, receiving and storage at Kubota’s warehouses and distribution centers. To accomplish this, Equipment Operators use machinery such as stand up/sit down forklifts, stock chasers and cherry pickers.

The schedule for this role is Monday through Friday, 6 am - 2:30 pm EST. 

Responsibilities

  • Obtains orders and transports material or equipment to and from designated areas within the facility.
  • Moves goods packed on pallets or in crates.
  • Loads and unloads Kubota parts and equipment onto or into trailer utility, which may require operating equipment including but not limited to; tractors, excavators and/or RTV's.
  • Stacks goods in correct storage bays, following inventory control instructions.
  • Checks to ensure that trucks are properly loaded and materials and equipment are secure.
  • Stacks empty pallets.
  • Performs daily equipment checks such as recharging the truck’s battery.
  • Maintains housekeeping expectations for all equipment utilized.
  • Maintains standard housekeeping expectations throughout shift.
  • Examines products to verify compliance to quality standards.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Willingness to work any shifts (days, nights and/or weekends).
  • Certified to operate various equipment including but not limited to; stand up/sit down forklifts, stock chaser and/or cherry pickers as required according to OSHA standards.
  • Knowledge, skill and ability to safely manage loads of heavy equipment, tires and/or pallets of parts.
  • Ability to use computer systems and/or RF scanner to input and retrieve information.
  • Basic math and computer skills required.
  • High degree of attention required to prevent injury to others and promote a safe work environment.
  • Follow and adhere to all policies and procedures.
  • Ability to execute assignments in an accurate, timely and safe manner.

Language Requirements

  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate fluently in English.

Equipment Operation

  • Stand up/sit down forklifts, stock chaser and/or cherry pickers.
  • Office equipment including computer, copier, phone, printer. RF scanner.
  • Equipment operation; dock locks

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly sitting and/or standing on powered equipment.
  • Frequently lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, turn, pivot, walk and/or stand for 8+ hours.
  • A good sense of balance and coordination.
  • Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights.
  • Ability to work at heights up to 30 feet.
  • Ability to work in varying temperatures depending upon the season both indoors and out.
  • Ability to wear various PPE including fall protection harnesses, seat belt restraints and gloves.

Additional Information

  • Flatbed trailers require extensive knowledge of crate size, weight distribution and height requirements. Must have the ability to climb on load which could be as high as 13 feet 6 inches.
