We are looking for a qualified Senior Controller to join our team in The Woodlands, Texas! We are open to a hybrid schedule for this role. This position is primarily responsible for providing financial services, which include operational support to the Business Units in accordance with Chart policies and procedures. This includes ensuring a sound internal control environment, timely and accurate financial reporting, supporting operating and financial reporting systems, management of business units assets and cash flows. This position will also ensure compliance with (POC) percent completion revenue recognition and coordination of project revenue management, advise of relevant technical matters or new developments that may affect the Division's financial results or structure, perform activities according to prescribed US GAAP Framework, and handle all activities recorded in the business unit's P&L and balance sheet. The Senior controller will be an engaged business partner supporting leadership.
What Will You Do?
Policies, Procedures and Internal Controls:
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and/or maintenance of accounting, policies, procedures,
  • Analyze and interpret technical accounting and control issues related to percent of completion (POC), revenue recognition, project progress payments and total invoicing.

Month end close, reporting, and financial performance analysis:
  • Ensure accurate and timely recording and reporting of financial information supported by appropriate documentation and analyses and reporting from ERP.
  • Ensure internal reporting requirements and deadlines are met whilst confirming the accuracy of information reported in Chart's consolidating system (Onestream).

Forecasting & Budget (Annual Operating Plan) & Strategic Plans
  • Establish and maintain key performance indicators - Identify any potential risk / opportunities to the forecast/budget and work with the leadership team on plans to mitigate risk or build plans to achieve opportunities.
  • Work closely with Supply Chain and Operations Manager to review capacity demands that may impact product delivery and financial results.

Liquidity Management and ROIC
  • Manage working capital and cash flow requirements of the business and manage cash management process for division to support maximized cash flow and return on invested capital.

Leadership and Management:
  • Recognize that selection, development, and retention of employees is one of the primary objectives of management roles.
  • Develop clarity around employee roles, organization and individual goals, and integrated processes and systems, thereby creating an organization structure that creates value for both internal and external customers.

Your Experience Should Be...
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or similar
  • CPA preferred
  • A minimum of 7+ years in direct accounting / controller position
  • Strong knowledge of POC project accounting (large projects, long term).
  • Working knowledge of ERP financial systems (JD Edwards preferred but not required) & Microsoft Office
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment; which includes capacity planning and absorption
  • Ability to organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, including excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Broad business knowledge; must understand how a business works and impact of decisions with regard to profitability, quality, sales, forecasting, product development, etc.
  • The ability to interact with diverse global cultures and demonstrate effective communication skills with associates, vendors and customers in a variety of business functions.
  • The positive attitude, ethics, and values necessary to support the company's mission and a high performance culture.
