Description

YMCA Lifeguard says, "My favorite thing about being a lifeguard at the Y is the community. The members, guests, and staff really make me enjoy coming into work every day. The interactions I have when at work have the power to change a bad day into a better one, and everyone is very helpful. The Y really is a team."

PAY RATE: $12.00/hr

The lifeguard is responsible for the safety of all patrons in and around the pool area.

  • Lifeguards ensure the safety of all participants by following aquatics best practices.
  • Adhere to and enforce aquatic rules and procedures consistently and fairly.
  • Maintain constant surveillance of water and pool deck areas, using the 10-10 rule.
  • Wear rescue fannie pack and rescue tube at all times while on duty.
  • Maintain cleanliness of pool area when not performing primary duties.
  • Accurately record and submit incident reports as required.
