Character Education Teacher 
Position Purpose 
Dublin Middle School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Character Education Teacher to inspire students in grades 58 to develop strong character, leadership skills, social-emotional competencies, and responsible decision-making. The ideal candidate will create an engaging classroom environment that promotes integrity, respect, empathy, perseverance, citizenship, and academic success while supporting the school's positive culture and climate.
Essential Functions




  • Develops and administers school art curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
  • Plan and deliver engaging Character Education lessons aligned with Georgia standards and district expectations.
  • Teach topics such as:
    • Respect
    • Responsibility

    • Citizenship

    • Digital Citizenship
    • Goal Setting

  • Incorporate project-based learning, service learning, and leadership opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate student records and classroom documentation.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional learning, and school events.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

  • Knowledge of instructional teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles.
  • Knowledge of Character Education curriculum and concepts.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
  • Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
  • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.

Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
Work in standard office and school building environments.

Qualifications Profile



Certification/License:

  • Masters Degree preferred.
     

Experience
Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level and/or subject is a plus.
