Character Education Teacher
Position Purpose
Dublin Middle School is seeking a passionate and dedicatedCharacter Education Teacher to inspire students in grades 5 8 to develop strong character, leadership skills, social-emotional competencies, and responsible decision-making. The ideal candidate will create an engaging classroom environment that promotes integrity, respect, empathy, perseverance, citizenship, and academic success while supporting the school's positive culture and climate.
Essential Functions
  • Develops and administers school art curriculum consistent with school district goals and objectives.
  • Plan and deliver engaging Character Education lessons aligned with Georgia standards and district expectations.
  • Teach topics such as:
    • Respect
    • Responsibility
    • Integrity
    • Leadership
    • Empathy
    • Citizenship
    • Conflict Resolution
    • Digital Citizenship
    • Goal Setting
    • Growth Mindset
    • Bullying Prevention
    • College and Career Readiness
  • Foster positive relationships with students and families.
  • Implement restorative practices and promote positive student behavior.
  • Collaborate with counselors, administrators, and teachers to support students' academic and social-emotional growth.
  • Monitor student progress and provide timely feedback.
  • Incorporate project-based learning, service learning, and leadership opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate student records and classroom documentation.
  • Participate in faculty meetings, professional learning, and school events.
  • Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive learning environment.

Additional Duties
Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other central office administrators as designated by the Superintendent.

Equipment
Use standard office equipment such as; personal computers, printer, copy and fax machines, and telephone.
Travel Requirements
Travels to school district buildings and professional meetings as required.
Work Schedule
Standard teacher work schedule as set forth in the Teachers' Unit Contract.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Knowledge of instructional teaching methods and educational pedagogy, as well as differentiates instruction based upon student learning styles.
  • Knowledge of Character Education curriculum and concepts.
  • Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws regarding education and students.
  • Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.
  • Ability to organize and coordinate work.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and parents.
  • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.
  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.

Physical and Mental Demands, Work Hazards
Work in standard office and school building environments.

Qualifications Profile
Certification/License:
  • [State] State Certification as a Character Education teacher or as required for position.
  • Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.

Education
  • Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.
  • Masters Degree preferred.

Experience
Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level and/or subject is a plus.
