Job Title: Project Manager – Capital Construction Projects

Job Description

This Project Manager role leads the delivery of multiple capital construction projects, ensuring that all work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with applicable federal and state regulations and internal standards. The position focuses on gas distribution and civil construction projects, overseeing the full project lifecycle from design and engineering through construction and closeout.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of multiple capital construction projects simultaneously, with a focus on gas distribution and civil construction.
  • Ensure all construction activities are performed safely and in compliance with applicable federal and state regulations, internal standards, and pipeline safety requirements.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, and budget, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation strategies to keep projects on track.
  • Oversee construction execution in the field, including excavation, shoring, pipe installation, tie-ins, purging, pressure testing, regulator work, and restoration coordination.
  • Coordinate and direct inspection teams and construction staff, providing clear leadership, guidance, and oversight throughout project execution.
  • Collaborate with design and engineering teams to ensure constructability, regulatory compliance, and alignment with project objectives.
  • Manage change orders and project modifications, ensuring proper documentation, justification, and impact analysis on cost and schedule.
  • Monitor construction quality and compliance with safety practices, standards, and procedures, taking corrective action when needed.
  • Facilitate communication among internal stakeholders, contractors, and field personnel to resolve issues and maintain project momentum.
  • Prepare and present project status updates, including progress, risks, and performance against schedule and budget targets.
  • Support continuous improvement by identifying lessons learned and implementing best practices in project and construction management.

Essential Skills

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in capital project management, preferably in construction or civil construction environments.
  • Proven leadership experience managing inspection teams or construction staff on complex projects.
  • Strong project management skills, including project coordination, scheduling, budgeting, and risk management.
  • Extensive experience in construction and construction management, with a focus on civil construction and pipeline or gas line projects.
  • Strong understanding of gas distribution construction methods and field practices, including excavation, shoring, pipe installation, tie-ins, purging, pressure testing, regulator work, and restoration coordination.
  • Working knowledge of pipeline safety and construction compliance requirements and safe work practices.
  • Ability to manage change orders effectively, including evaluating scope changes and their impact on cost and schedule.
  • Master’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $110000.00 - $135000.00/hr.
