Summary:

Rush University Medical Center is seeking a detail-oriented and self-directed Change Manager to lead and support organization-wide transformation initiatives that drive adoption, engagement, and measurable business outcomes. This role is responsible for designing, executing, and measuring end-to-end change management strategies for complex projects and enterprise portfolios, ensuring successful implementation and long-term sustainability of organizational change. 

The Change Manager partners closely with functional leaders, project teams, and stakeholders across the organization to assess change impacts, develop stakeholder engagement strategies, create communication and readiness plans, and support the adoption of new processes and technologies. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor, helping leaders navigate change while fostering alignment, minimizing disruption, and driving desired behavioral outcomes. 

In addition to leading change management activities, the Change Manager will develop and enhance best-practice methodologies, tools, and frameworks, while providing coaching and guidance to business partners and less experienced colleagues. Success in this role requires strong consulting, communication, facilitation, and influencing skills, along with the ability to effectively engage stakeholders at all levels of the organization. 

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience supporting change initiatives within a university or higher education environment and those who have led change management efforts related to Workday Student or other student information system transformations. Experience helping academic institutions navigate large-scale technology, operational, or process changes will be highly valued.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the development of comprehensive organization change management strategies and plans for key initiatives.
  • Effectively consults and influences leaders at all levels.
  • Effectively manages critical change and enablement tasks from beginning to end.
  • Manage detailed and robust change management plan documents and corresponding deliverables.
  • Coordinates and delivers change management and communications activities including impact assessments, stakeholder analyses, Change Agent Network sessions, readiness evaluations, written communication, and awareness roadshows.
  • Facilitates small and large group meetings to align, identify, and create plans for group action.
  • Develops effective communication and end user adoption by leveraging data visualization and storytelling skills.
  • Identifies issues and risks related to organizational change and develops mitigation plans.
  • Creates high quality change management assets including PowerPoint, memos, excel workbooks, and leader toolkits.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Job Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline (e.g., Human Resources Operations, Business Management, Psychology, Communications, Organizational Behavior, Organization Development or similar fields)
  • 5 years of experience providing change management solutions in support of large-scale process/technology projects and/or other transformational initiatives.
  • Strong consulting, influencing, execution, analytical and communication skills.
  • Expertise in change management areas such as communications, training and support, leadership engagement or change network management.
  • Emphasis on interpersonal skills that encourages behavior change and end user adoption.
  • Proficient and functional knowledge of MS Office (including MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, Visio, Access, MS Outlook) and Project Management software (Jira, Confluence)
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels in the organization.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Organization Development or Business Administration
  • 7+ years of experience leading complex change management portfolio or projects
  • Prior experience working in a University or Higher Education setting.
  • Prior experience with Workday Student.
  • Professional in Project Management (PMP)
  • Prosci Change Management or ACMP certification
  • ERP Change Management delivery experience
